I'm pretty bogged down with honeymoon stuff (we leave Friday), but I wanted to pop in and say that I'm finally married! After two long years, it's finally over! Bob and I were married June 2 in Montgomery, AL. It was everything I could have ever wanted and a little more.

My favorite non-pro picsCollapse )

Out pro-pics are online at TaylorPhotography.Net. Click "Gallery Login" and use the password TSM-060207

Our grand total was about $5,000 excluding the honeymoon. We're taking a 8-day cruise through the Caribbean. The honeymoon is about $3400 after you factor in passports, a hotel the night before, gas money, etc. So around $8,500 for the wedding of our dreams is not bad at all, especially considering the fact that two years ago I thought that we were going to end up spending like $30k to get what we wanted.

I highly recommend all of our vendors. They were so amazing throughout everything. I also recommend FromTheSky.com, which is were I got my moissanite solitaire.

I'm glad it's all over now. I didn't really enjoy planning the wedding. It was a headache and a hassle, for the most part. I'm happy to have it behind me and to finally be able to enjoy married life.

Anyway, Good luck to everyone. Hope your weddings are everything you and your FHs want them to be.

Bye!
The new Mrs. McGough

my girls have all picked their dresses so i thought i'd show you all! the dresses will all be done in a deep violet purple color. i let each girl pick her dress and as you can see there's a huge difference in personalities going on! i think that with them being all the same color/fabric/length it'll be ok though. i'm a november wedding as well and i've ordered them little black capelets (like the one below) to wear over their dresses for outdoor photos and whatnot. *ignore the 'dress #' on the photos...that's for the seamstress. and also forgive the rough photoshopping...i had to do some adding/altering for some of the girls and i realize it's rough but you get the idea.

Not unbalanced... [

Thanks to everyone that supported me in my late night pre-wedding freak out. It was just me being stressed. I counted, and no, the wedding will not be unbalanced. Even though I don't have a lot of family there, I'm making up for it in friends. I'm still sad that my family can't come, but I think my FH and I are going to try to take a trip up to Alaska to visit family over the summer. He wants to meet them, at least.

So, the current crisis is over for the time being. I'm sure I'll have a few more in the 6 weeks that I have left before the wedding. Hopefully not! Thanks for the support though!

Wedding woes [

[ mood | sad ]

So I had this wedding nightmare a while back where I walked down the aisle and all of my FH's side was full and I had 2 rows filled.

Well, it might come true.

Aside from my parents and my only brother coming, I have one aunt and her son (my cousin) coming. My family in Chile and Bolivia I knew couldn't come. But I figured some of my family from Alaska would come (I'm in WA state) especially since we sent the save the dates 6 months out. (And some of them work for the airline and can get free or really cheap tickets easily, like they always do). Well, with 38 days to go, the date on the RSVP cards had come and gone and I had ONE RSVP card from the 7 families on my dad's side. (It was a "decline" - but with good reason). The others? We had to call (or I had to email cousins that didn't ever call us back) and all of them said no, they can't. A couple had said "oh no, we just got plane tickets..." Did you not ever know that I was getting married? Did you not get the save the date? Their response is sorry....we'll send money. I DON'T WANT YOUR MONEY! I WANT YOU TO SPEND MY SPECIAL DAY WITH ME! It makes me really sad. It makes me feel very unimportant.

It makes me worry a lot that my nightmare might actually come true.

Sorry for the rant. Had to do it somewhere...

Disney Honeymoon Registry [

I know there are a few of you out there who are having Disney Honeymoons, and I was so excited to see an e-mail in my inbox the other day telling me that the Disney Honeymoon Registry is now up and running! Looks like you have to have accomodations booked before you can complete your registry wishlist, which I don't have yet, but I'll definitely be bookmarking this and returning to it.

ETA: I figured I'd add my other tip about travelling Disney...Chase's Disney Visa Card gives you 1% rewards in the form of Disney Dollars (to be used in the parks, hotels, cruises, Disney Stores, etc) and with that link you get a free one-day pass to the parks that you can use on its on or use towards upgrading to a multi-day/park hopper pass. No, I don't work for Disney, or Chase. I'm just a Disney nut who looks for all possible ways to make my Disney trips more affordable. :)

I picked up the 2007 Farmer's Almanac tonight. If you want to know what the weather prediction is for your 2007 wedding, leave me a comment with your date and the region in which you live. I'll comment back with what it says for you.

The regions are:
1. Northeastern States
2. Great Lakes and Midwest
3. Southeastern States
4. North Central States
5. South Central States
6. Northwestern States
7. Southwestern States

If you live on the Eastern seaboard, especially DelMarVa, let me know so I can check both zone 1 and 3 for you.

Wedding planning is going very slowly, due to being extremely broke, but we do have a few things accomplished.
We know for a fact that we're going for a slight fairy tale/renfaire combo type of theme.  I think anything full out would a little too theatrical for my FH's taste.  Our colors are royal or midnight blue and silver.  The blue depends on what bridesmaids dress we decide to go with.  Let me just preface this post by saying I'm not the best photographer ever, so a lot of these aren't the best quality.

the journey so far...Collapse )

well...can scratch this off the 'things to do for the wedding" list: flower girl dress
saw this dress on ebay about five dresses down the list with only 11 minutes left in the auction and didn't look any further because it's perfect for us! one of our colors is silver and no matter what dress i get it'll be chiffon/organza. this will be SO sparkly and adorable for our evening reception! awww. and it'll fit her next year. and....*drumrole* with shipping and the exchange rate it was $39.43 canadian!!! go me!

ps: i think i might get rid of the flower on the front of the dress and just leave it as plain satin ribbon. that's the ONLY thing i don't love about the dress!

what do ya'll think ??? and now...flower ring or glittery tiara for her hair? i'm thinking blingy tiara!

next up: kid 'glass' shoes or similar blingy footwear!

First dress worthy of sharing... [

A friend of mine went with me to try on dresses in a small mall store. This store had very little to choose from and had one dress in each style in varying sizes. Before trying this dress on I tried a similar dress on and it was too small. I asked her if she could find a similar style in the next size. I tried this dress on and was pretty comfortable. I liked it, but would change a few things. This dress has the four things I didn't want in a wedding dress: beads, lace, strapless and a big train! I'm surprised that I'm sort of liking these things. This dress as is does NOT go with our motorcycle themed wedding. This dress did made me feel like a bride though. I liked it enough to call my mom, who works a couple blocks away to come see and take pictures as I did not have my camera with me. Btw, the service was great, very quick and helpful. They recorded the dress style I tried on incase I came back to the store. The lady was a bit pushy in wanting me to put money down on the dress now, but with my wedding being May 19th, I decided I would keep looking(I have an Alfred Angelo Appt Saturday afternoon) and see what else I can find. I just wanted to share and get ideas and opinions from all you wonderful Brides to Be!

Three photos under cut.Collapse )

some wedding ideas ive had [

[ mood | happy ]

Wanted to get these in writing so to speak..some ideas I've had:

Theme: Fairytale/rennisance romance
Favors: Sandcastle wedding favors with name and date on them
Inviations: Cinderella/Prince Charming/Castle inviations
Flowers: Roses or callas lilies..I would either carry 4 or 5 of them and my attendants one or two with a ribbon wrapped around them in my colors..or roses a simple arrangement for me and I was thinking of abreakaway bouquet...one or two roses or other flower tied..in a bunch..have 2 or three ties together then tied with a longer ribbon..untie that and then you toss it..it break apart and many instead of just one get it.

Torch/candle lined walkway
Saw a veil when I went and looked at wedding gowns and they had one wear you could have a tiny stone glued or sewn onto your veiwl that matched your colors..so you had some of your wedding attendants colors in your own esemable..

Cake...mmm, cake [

rethought
[ mood | blah ]

Right. I've found my wedding cake. It's just so beautiful, it makes me just...mmm...want to eat it. :) (By the way, I'm a sucker for ribbon.)

Picture under cut.Collapse )

Pity the set up for 125 people is £975. Ouch.

Admittedly, it includes not only 125 of the parcels, but a top tier, set up and delivery. The cakes themselves are £4 a piece, so £500 for that. They're big enough and nice enough looking to substitute for dessert at the plated dinner, but another £475 for delivery and set up? Even if the top tier is £100, it seems a lot.

Anyone have any other price figures for UK individual wedding cakes?

Also, I've decided that I do NOT want to cut the cake. Am I going to get away with this, you think?

(We're sticking with the individual ones because we have people with various food allergies and small individual cakes allow us to serve everyone without worrying that so and so accidentally ate egg/wheat/soy and so forth.)
